About Immelman &
Redivo

Our Story

Immelman and Redivo Physiotherapy Inc. was founded by Elandie Immelman and Vanessa Redivo. Our doors opened on the 2nd of January 2013 at the Groenkloof out-patient department. Later that same year, an inpatient practice was started at the Life Eugene Marais Hospital. Our mission and vision is to form an integral part of the community and giving quality evidence based physiotherapy services. Our mantra: “Ortho. Sport. Rehab. Function. Physio.”

An out-patient department was started close to Life Eugene Marais Hospital to offer a comprehensive service to patients, working with Dr Helene Basson. Our focus was mainly on orthopaedic care, in and out of hospital.

Melani Delport joined the physiotherapy team. At the end of 2015, we started working with Dr Doron Frantzen.

Life Groenkloof Hospital paediatric ward was added to our service offering. We enjoyed working creatively with the infants to enhance respiratory function. A few years later the ward was transferred to our colleague Kim, in order for us to move our focus more towards orthopaedics, sports and pain disorders.

Life Wilgers Hospital in-patient care was opened in the first half of 2019 working with Dr Reynard Immelman. The Wilgers out-patient facility was opened in November of the same year. Here we continued our mission in a new environment with our focus set on orthopaedics, sports and musculoskeletal conditions. Melani joined as a director in 2019.

We started working with Dr Jannes Meijer at the Life Eugene Marais Hospital. The Erasmuskloof Cure Day Hospital services were started together with Dr Reynard Immelman.

The Groenkloof out-patient department was moved closer to the Brooklyn Mall in Nieuw Muckleneuk. We started working with Dr Nicholas Mnisi at the Life Eugene Marais Hospital. Vanessa immigrated and started a new journey in Australia.

We opened new services at the Kloof Mediclinic Hospital.

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a four year degree course, with an added one year community service in South Africa. It is also called Physical Therapy and is a treatment approach that aims to eliminate pain and restore mobility through a systematic approach. Physiotherapists are medically trained and qualified to assess patients and make diagnoses. You don’t need a referral from a medical practitioner to be treated by a physiotherapist.

At IR Physio we aim to work in a multi-disciplinary team with our fellow colleagues. We believe that communication between health care providers is vitally important.

The Immelman and Redivo Way

Our vision and mission has remained the same throughout the last decade. We are proud of our team, and our team motto is: “Teamwork Makes The Dream Work!” We aim to remain a pillar in the communities we work in, focusing on you and your family!
